THERE'S AN F IN PHOENIX...IN REDRUTH
By Les Merton
The best of Les Merton might be a more apt title for this book, featuring as it does a selection of his award winning English and Cornish dialect writing. The title of this book refers to the fire on St. Piran's day 2005 which destroyed Les Merton's home, the nerve center of Palores Publications and Poetry Cornwall. The title is a quote from a poem written for the benefit evening arranged on behalf of Poetry Cornwall by Cornish Literary Guild.
This book includes many aspects of Cornish life: mining, fishing, customs, folklore, superstitions and humor, with short stories and poems the book is ideal reading whenever a few spare moments present themselves.
