THE CORNISH JOURNAL OF CHARLES LEE
Edited by K.C. Phillipps
In his journal at the start of the 20th century Charles Lee recounts vivid anecdotes of and by his Cornish neighbors; "What Mrs. Simons calls a fine day; that is to say, it is dull, cold, misty, with a drizzling rain now and then, 'but with little wind,' and 'Jimmy the Fiddler lives alone...he loves to get a crowd of small children in his cottage and play to them. They sit as quiet as mice.'
These selected journal entries reflect life in Newlyn and other places from 1892-1908, lots of Cornish dialect and humor.
